    WHO ARE WE?

    MISSION

The mission of Regional Cadet Support Unit - Eastern (RCSU Eastern) is to plan, organize, direct, control and improve the implementation of Canadian Cadet Program activities for the 240 cadet corps in the Eastern Region (Quebec and the Ottawa Valley).

    VISION

A relevant, credible and proactive organization that delivers an enviable youth program.

    VALUES

Personnel inclusion in and influence on decisions that affect them.

    CANADIAN CADET PROGRAM

The Canadian Cadet Program is the largest federally sponsored national youth development program for 12- to 18-year-olds. This youth program provides interested communities with a personal development program and solid activities and tools that help prepare young people for the transition to adulthood by instilling in them the knowledge required to take on the challenges of modern society. The success of the Cadet Program depends on the support and commitment of community members who would like to offer their young people an exciting and rewarding program with high-quality direction and supervision by qualified personnel, including Cadet Instructor Cadre officers (CIC Os).

    OBJECTIVES OF THE CADET PROGRAM

The objectives of the Cadet Program are to teach young people aged 12–18 how to be good citizens and leaders, to promote physical fitness, and to stimulate young people’s interest in sea, land and air activities, including band.

    PARTNERS

The Department of National Defence, together with the Navy League, Army Cadet League and Air Cadet League of Canada are the Cadet Program’s partners. Among other things, these Leagues are responsible for securing the community’s commitment through sponsoring committees associated with each cadet corps.
